Terry had an elder brother, Kevin Dubrow, who was the lead singer for the popular heavy metal band Quiet Riot till his death due to an overdose in 2007.

Terry Dubrow attended medical school at UCLA and graduated in 1986. Terry also has a master’s degree from Yale. Terry Dubrow went on to complete a residency in general surgery and was chief resident at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Terry completed his fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the UCLA Medical Center.

Terry Dubrow created his private practice, offering cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery in Newport Beach, California. Before being popular through his television appearances, Dubrow received great reviews and doctor referrals for facelifts, rhinoplasty, tummy tucks, difficult breast revision cases, and other specialty procedures.

After his own practice, Terry Dubrow was approached by producers from Fox in 2004, who asked him to become the featured plastic surgeon on their reality series, The Swan.
