Ѕmоѕh Growth story

Padilla and Hecox first became friends in their science class in the sixth grade. They grew close and quickly realized they had a gift for comedy.

They joined YouTube in 2005 and created several videos together, lip-syncing the songs from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, and Mortal Kombat. They initially had no intention of posting these videos online, but after sending them to their friends, they decided to create a YouTube channel.

Smosh diversified over the course of the subsequent few years. Starting with their annual video series Food Battle and That Damn Neighbor, they began producing brief YouTube skits. Smosh became one of the most subscribed YouTube channels as its grew popular. Smosh prepared a significant redesign of in 2009, including the addition of a games section and additional video content. The “Smosh Pit” feature, a blog with various bits of pop-culture trivia and written comedy, was introduced by Smosh in January 2010.

Along with Mari Takahashi, David “Lasercorn” Moss, Matthew Sohinki, and Joshua “Jovenshire” Ovenshire, the pair launched three new YouTube channels in 2012: Shut Up! Cartoons, ElSmosh, and Smosh Games. ElSmosh features Smosh videos subtitled in Spanish and Smosh Games features gaming-related content.

Music videos with a video game theme are some of Smosh’s most watched videos. These songs have so far been made available on four albums: Sexy Album (2010), If Music Were Real (2011), Smoshtastic (2012), and The Sweet Sound of Smosh (2013).

“Zombies, Assassins, and DLC – SAGNUT 9/26/2012” is the oldest video on the Smosh Games channel. In the video, they talk about Assassin’s Creed, Mass Effect 3 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops zombies.

On the main Smosh channel, a web sitcom premiered in January 2016. In the comedy-drama Part Timers, Hecox’s first job at Chuck E. Cheese’s serves as the model for Pork E. Pine’s, a fictional children’s arcade and pizza restaurant. Every episode features a challenge that the team must overcome to keep the company operating.

Padilla made the decision to leave Smosh and pursue his own video projects on June 14, 2017, citing a “lack in creative freedom” Hecox announced his decision to stay with Smosh, saying, “I’m really looking forward to taking Smosh to the next phase, and we can’t wait for people to see what we have coming up.”

Let’s Plays and shows that provide commentary on video games are among the many videos that Smosh Games posts each week. Padilla and Hecox were the channel’s primary hosts when it first launched, but over time, fellow Smosh Games members Mari Takahashi, Joshua “Joven” Ovenshire, David “Lasercorn” Moss, Matthew Sohinki, Amra “Flitz” Ricketts, Wesley “Wes” Johnson, Ericka “Boze” Bozeman, and Damien Haas took over the majority of hosting responsibilities.

Annual “Smosh Summer Games” and “Smosh Winter Games” competitions were held on the channel from 2015 to 2019. They were hosted on the Smosh Games channel, with additional videos posted to the Smosh 2nd Channel. Boze joined the lineup for the 2017 Winter Games, while Shayne Topp joined it as a referee for the first Summer Games in 2015.

Damien Haas came on board in 2017. Sohinki and Lasercorn made the decision to leave Smosh Games in August 2017 in order to concentrate on their new channel, Toaster Ghost, and for Lasercorn to spend more time with his son. They haven’t ruled out future Smosh-related videos, and they have since made sporadic appearances on the channel.

After the collapse of Defy Media, the parent company of Smosh, the channel ceased to exist. The channel would resume on April 13 with a Mortal Kombat video, with the main cast being more involved and Lasercorn coming back to the fold, as was confirmed in an episode of SmoshCast.

The popular ongoing “Try Not To Laugh” video series, one of the most recent Smosh Pit series, features the primary and/or secondary Smosh cast (typically with at least one guest) acting out various improvised scenarios directed at one cast member while they have a mouthful of water in an effort to make them spit it out.
