Feras Antoon Biography:
Feras was born in Damascus, Syria in 1975, but grew up in Quebec, Canada. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal, he teamed up with Stephane Manos, Ouissam Youssef, Matt Keezer, and David Tassillo to co-establish his first porn website, Brazzers, in the mid-2000s.
Initially, Feras specialized in distributing explicit videos featuring heavy-chested, older women, but later expanded to include other erotic aspects. When industry tycoon Fabian Thylmann made Mansef a part of his conglomerate Manwin in 2010, Feras chose to evolve into a manager, rather than let go of his hard work like 3 of the 5 original partners.
When Thylmann was arrested for tax evasion in 2012, he re-sold the entire business to Feras and Tassillo, plus investor Bernd Bergmair, for nearly $100 million. The co-owners then rebranded the organization as MindGeek, which already had Pornhub, Brazzers, Redtube, Youporn, Xtube, plus several other subsidiaries under its name.
By 2013, MindGeek had become a well-oiled machine, and Feras’ unique management style helped it become a full-fledged monopoly. MindGeek garnered significant name, fame, success, and wealth over the ensuing years, until a 2020 New York Times expose accused Pornhub of sexual abuse/trafficking.
This led to a public backlash and Feras resigned from his position in the summer of 2022, but remained a co-owner of MindGeek. In March 2023, Ethical Capital Partners (ECP) acquired MindGeek in a massive sale, and as a former co-owner of the company, Feras benefited from the deal.
