Bob’s father, William “Bill” Baffert Sr. was an assistant to legendary trainer, D. Wayne Lukas. William Baffert’s died in 2002 at the age of 79. His mother, Ellie Baffert was a schoolteacher and died in 2000 at the age of 76.
